Hakuhodo, TBWA launch G1 for Toyota

Hakuhodo and TBWA have officially started a new joint agency called G1 Worldwide, launched specifically to handle the Nissan worldwide advertising account.

Mr Robert LaPlae, president and CEO, will be stationed in Tokyo and will

manage and supervise total operatons of G1 Worldwide, working with Mr

Jean-Jacques LeGoff, senior managing director and head of global

marketing headquarters of Nissan.

Mr Takashi Ohashi will be chairman of G1 Worldwide.

Mr LaPlae has moved from TBWA/Chiat/Day in the US, while Mr Ohashi was

senior account director of Hakuhodo Tokyo.

Hakuhodo has told MEDIA that ownership of G1 Worldwide would be split

equally between Hakuhodo and TBWA.

Also, Hakuhodo G1 will handle total Japan advertising operations

(capital share: 80 per cent by Hakuhodo and 20 per cent by TBWA).

They are expecting to expand to handle the whole Asian market.

TBWA G1 North America (TBWA 80 per cent, Hakuhodo 20 per cent) will

handle Nissan's North American market, headed by Mr Michael Allen.

TBWA G1 Europe (TBWA 80 per cent, Hakuhodo 20 per cent) will handle the

total European market, headed by Mr Philip Purdon.
