Ivy Wong joins TVB.com as COO

HONG KONG - Former Yahoo executive Ivy Wong has confirmed she will join TVB.com as chief operating officer, as reported by Media (26 October).

Ivy Wong joins TVB.com as COO
Wong joins as the city’s leading broadcaster gears up for significant expansion of its online presence, in a bid to better connect with its global audience.

“I’ve always fancied working in a role that integrates different media together,” said Wong. “I have a strong background in internet but I think it’s time to learn about TV and work on a new business model.”

While TVB.com, at its peak, possessed a workforce of 200 people it has scaled back its efforts in recent years. “The question is how to convert programming into a new media format - internet and mobile,” added Wong. “My mandate is to really look at the whole global Chinese community.”
