Diary: On the spot - Chia-Huei Parker, Director, Millward Brown Firefly (Millward Brown Asia-Pacific Qualitative)

What's the best part of your job?

Diary: On the spot - Chia-Huei Parker, Director, Millward Brown Firefly (Millward Brown Asia-Pacific Qualitative)

I've always been interested in how people think and why they behave in certain ways. I studied anthropology and psychology, so I am practising applied anthropology in my work.

And the worst?

I am always under tight deadlines; it's as if I never left school! Travel and time away from my husband and kids, as well as friends, is also a negative.

Your all-time favourite film and why?

Some of my favourite directors include Kurasawa, Bergman, Wilder, Fellini, Scorsese, Greenaway ... I could go on.

Favourite book or CD?

Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, White Noise by Don DeLillo. My husband's first novel is another favourite.

Favourite print title?

The New Yorker and Harper's. I also love Vanity Fair for celebrity/gossip.

Favourite restaurant?

The Ning Po Residents Association on D'Aguilar Street for Sunday dinner, and M at the Fringe for great atmosphere.

Do you have a favourite gadget?

My husband gave me an iPod for my birthday, but he uses it more than I do. So I'm going to get a mini iPod. I also love kitchen gadgets.

Favourite fashion designer?

Issey Miyaki, Jil Sander and Giorgio Armani.

Weirdest thing in your closet?

A pair of pink woolly booties from Peru.

What are your hobbies?

Films, music and food.

Favourite holiday destination?

Europe. And one of the best places I've visited is Oaxaca, Mexico.

Who would play you in a movie?

Meryl Streep.

How would you title your movie?

The Blue Haired Girl.

If you were a brand, what would it be?

Levi's - classic, yet contemporary.

All-time favourite ad?

The recent VW Beetle print ad. I also like the Absolut Vodka ads.

Please finish this line: I wish I could ...

Play a musical instrument well.

Last thing to cross your mind before bed?

What I need to do the next day or my kids.
