Dentsu, Asatsu JV Drill to roll out as creative specialist

Dentsu and Asatsu-DK have set up a joint-venture, Drill, to specialise in the creative development of 'next generation advertising'. The new company will begin operation on January 5.

Drill will combine expertise and staff of both agencies to provide brands with new communication planning services by bringing together creative and media strategy for cross-media creative planning. The company will use film, animation and other content in advertising planning, as well as specific strategy to promote word-of-mouth advertising. Drill's creative organisation will include art directors and copywriters, as well as experts in media planning, strategic planning, strategic PR and interactive media. President and executive creative director Kotaro Sugiyamo will head up Drill, in addition, he will also continue in his role as executive officer at Dentsu.
