The client has used multiple agencies in the past including  Lowe, Mindshare and Madison Media.

The 85-year-old Commercial Bank of Ceylon is regarded as one of the most profitable private sector banks in Sri Lanka. They currently have a network of 179 branches in the country, with two more due to open over the next two weeks.

Nishan Magodaratna, CEO of Madison Media Sri Lanka, said: "We are looking forward to taking the Bank to the next level, tapping on the growing offering of new media to reflect the brand's dynamic image as broadband penetration increases in Sri Lanka."

He added: "One of the challenges is that the client has worked with multiple agencies in the past, we need to optimise all media partners into a centralised buying operation."

Madison Media started its operations in Sri Lanka just over a year ago. The agency is part of Madison World, a large diversified communications group in India with 20 units across 10 specialised functions, employing over 800 communication professionals across India, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Other clients include Airtel, Allianz Insurance and Britannia.
