Privately-owned Chinese media company Sun Media Investment has acquired Entertainment Today, the US entertainment weekly established in 1967.
Sun Media will take over the full operations of Entertainment Today later this month and expects to boost its reader base via a new online version, according to news agency Interfax.
Sun Media chiefs said the acquisition will strengthen development of its new media business, with plans to develop an online version of Entertainment Today already underway.
