Member since 2020

Stuart Spencer has demonstrated exceptional leadership as AIA’s group chief marketing officer, driving significant impact across customer engagement, brand development, and marketing innovation. His focus on embedding AIA’s purpose—to help people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives—into every aspect of the business has been instrumental in the company’s success.

In 2024, AIA achieved excellent financial results, with the value of new business (VONB) increasing by 18% to a record US$4,712 million, underscoring the effectiveness of the company’s purpose-led strategy. Spencer has been a key driver of AIA’s customer-centric transformation, with a mission to ensure every customer feels valued, understood, and truly delighted.

AIA’s market leadership is evident in its strong brand performance. According to AIA’s Brand Power Monitor, AIA holds the number one position for brand awareness within the insurance sector in five key markets: Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Additionally, AIA is the leading brand for brand preference in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and ranks second in Australia. AIA’s brand consideration is also strong, ranking first in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and second in Australia.

Spencer has spearheaded innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with AIA’s diverse customer base. The “AIA Voices” content series, for example, garnered significant engagement with over 71 million views and 731,000 engagements. These initiatives demonstrate his ability to connect with audiences and drive brand advocacy.

Beyond marketing campaigns, Spencer is a strong advocate for purpose-led brand strategy and marketing excellence. He has played a crucial role in deepening the integration of AIA’s purpose within the organization, ensuring it guides all activities and resonates with stakeholders. At Campaign360 2025, Spencer presented a rousing call to put health and wellness on the top of everyone's priority list and to move past outdated stereotypes of what constitutes real health.

Spencer is committed to fostering a highly engaged marketing community within AIA. He actively mentors chief marketing officers across AIA’s 18 markets and empowers marketing professionals at all levels through knowledge sharing and recognition. In December 2024, he organized a region-wide AIA Group Marketing conference that attracted over 2,400 employees, both online and in person, to celebrate marketing achievements and reinforce AIA’s purpose.

Recognized as a thought leader in the industry, Spencer is a member of The Wall Street Journal Chief Marketing Officer Network, where he collaborates with global peers to address critical issues facing marketing leaders. His leadership, focus on purpose, and commitment to marketing excellence make him a compelling candidate for the Power List.
