Inaugural event hosted by Unruly saw creative agencies pitching to clients in a speed-dating format.

On 17 November, Unruly hosted its first 'Meet the makers' event in Singapore, which drew more than 40 attendees.

The inaugural event expands on an initiative that was first launched in London. It comprises a speed-dating session between the video ad tech company’s clients and some innovative creative agencies: some small new companies as well as some larger and more established ones.

Ahead of the session, each client submits a brief that is distributed to participating agencies. On the day, each client spends 15 minutes with each team and hears how they would respond.

Unruly said it orchestrates the event because it is “passionate about improving the quality of content generally”, in line with its vision is to be “the team and the tech that change video advertising for the better.”

The company also believes the event helps the wider ecosystem, said Phil Townend, chief commercial officer for Unruly APAC. “We want clients to be thinking about new ways of producing content, and we want great new makers to get the chance to speak to big clients,” he said.
