Fondly known as "Freddie", Corbett has more than 17 years of experience in the industry and has worked both agency and client side.

Corbett joined Microsoft as director of marketing communications Asia-Pacific for consumer and online in 2011 after helming Bates 141 (now known as Bates Chi & Partners) for four years. She was promoted to her current role two and a half years ago.

A spokesperson for Microsoft confirmed Corbett's departure but was unable to comment on her replacement "at this stage". "Suffice to say we are covered and it will be business as usual," he said.

Update: Twitter got in touch to clarify Corbett's formal title which has been changed from 'regional marketing manager' in the introduction.
