BBH's Ikea campaign bags Grand Prix at SPH iink Awards

SINGAPORE - BBH’s ad campaign for Ikea won the Grand Prix award at the SPH iink Awards 2015, with the agency also named the creative agency of the year. OMD took home the media agency of the year award.

The SPH iink Awards 2015 Grand Prix prize was awarded for the ‘Ikea – BookBook’, a campaign promoting Ikea’s 2015 catalog through a spoof on Apple’s MacBook adverts. The campaign won Gold in the Print Single, Print Campaign-English and Integrated categories.

Points were allocated to the winners and finalists of each category. The Grand Prix winner was the entry that scored the highest number of points, while the highest scoring creative and media agency across all categories became the creative agency of the year and media agency of the year, respectively.

There were 10 award categories this year: Print Single – English; Print Campaign – English; Print Single/Campaign – Chinese; Print Classified/Recruitment/Notice; Print Creative Media Buy; Digital; Radio Commercial; Radio Campaign; Out-of-Home; and Integrated - SPH IS ON Campaign.

Winners in most categories will receive a full-page advertising space in either of SPH’s flagship newspapers, The Straits Times or Lianhe Zaobao.

In addition to the winners in the above categories, there was a Readers’ Choice Award, which was given to ‘Kick the Habit. Stop Problem Gambling’ by the National Council on Problem Gambling.

Other notable winners include DDB Singapore and OMD for ‘One Force’, a campaign by the Air Force Recruitment Centre. DDB also won a Gold in the radio category for ExxonMobil’s ‘ExxonMobil Lives Here’.
