Shangri-La calls global creative review

HONG KONG - Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that it is in the process of reviewing its global creative agencies in a pitch that was called earlier this month.

Shangri-La calls global creative review

According to a spokesperson for the hospitality group, the review is part of a "normal contractual process" and the pitch involves Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong along with other "select agencies that have been included to participate".

The spokesperson declined to share further details on the names and number of agencies invited to pitch.

Ogilvy Hong Kong has held the global account since 2009 when it won the account off incumbent TBWA Hong Kong. Ogilvy recently helped launch Shangri-La's new hotel in Tibet with a campaign that it claims had garnered more than a billion impressions

In London however, it's understood that Shangri-La's hotel at The Shard is looking for its own, UK-based creative shop, reported Campaign UK. It is unclear if this pitch is involved in the current global review.

It is understood that the hospitality brand's media account is not currently under review. Havas Media has held the business since its appointment in 2012.

The review process is expected to conclude within three months, said Shangri-La's representative.
