DDB chairman Aaron Lau cited increasing client interest in the market for the move. "More and more of our international clients are considering Vietnam as one of the key markets in Asia," said Lau. "We felt it was important for us to establish a credible agency offer in that marketplace."

DDB has had a working relationship with Vietnam Advertising for a number of years. "They are the largest agency in the country, so we are going to try to match our own expertise with their knowledge and clout in the marketplace," said Lau. While Lau said that no relocations from DDB staff into Vietnam have yet to take place, "that, obviously, is something under discussion." Established in 1993, Vietnam Advertising counts LG Cosmetics and Philips as clients.
