Taobao Festival launches world's first rocket restaurant in Hangzhou

STRANGER THINGS: See how Chinese entrepreneurs are taking rocket recycling to new heights.

Under the professional guidance of the China Aerospace Museum, Taobao and Alibaba-owned food delivery-servie ele.me teamed up to build an out-of-this-world restaurant experience for a limited time.

The Rocket Restaurant in Hangzhou was built with the remaining debris of the Long March 2F rocket that was launched with the Chinese Tiangong 2 and Shenzhou 11 spacecraft. It will remain open for 14 days during the Taobao Festival, until September 25. Following the event, the rocket wreck will be transported back to the museum.

According to a press release, Rocket Restaurant patrons can open the ele.me app and order space-themed dishes while eating in a space dome immersive dining experience. McDonald's, Pizza Hut, New White Deer, Muma Pizza and other brands are also available in the rocket restaurant.  Fast food indeed.
