Newell partners global independents to win 'clean' biz

HONG KONG - Newell Public Relations in Hong Kong along with Sterling Communications in the US, Johnson King in Europe and Pressman in India, have secured the global business for The Cleantech Group - a global company that invests in clean technologies - outgunning Burson Marsteller, Edelman and Schwartz in a global pitch in San Francisco this month.

Sterling Communications will spearhead the organisation's global media and analyst relations, event promotions and social networking initiatives, while Newell will be handling the Greater China region.

“We feel there is strong demand for clean technologies and green initiatives on the Mainland,” David Croasdale (pictured), managing director of Newell Public Relations said.

“So much so that we have set up a Green practice for new and existing clients involved in sustainability. It will also act as a catalyst for cross-platforming into other practice areas to provide clients with an all-round communications profile and networking event opportunities for venture capitalists and potential companies,” he added.

The Green practice will be headed up by Ivan Theodoulou, group practice director, Newell Public Relations.

The Cleantech Group is a leading provider, globally, for market research and related services for a clean technology ecosystem. Companies already members of the Cleantech Network include Bosch, BP, General Motors, Ikea, Siemens, Virgin, among others.
