The Global Hotel Forum wanted to invite top hoteliers from the domestic and international markets, and experts from the tourism development and hospitality industry to an event where they could share their valuable experience and opinions on global hotel trends in the future.

Following an evaluation and judging process, the Global Hotel Association awards were to be presented to leading hotels and outstanding professional managers from across the globe.

Challenges
Delegates flew in for the event from several different cities in China as well as from overseas, so the organiser had to ensure their arrival times and pick-up service were closely monitored.
The speeches were broadcast live on television and on the internet, therefore broadband
internet access was needed as well as top-of-the-range audiovisual equipment.
Occupancy in the Kempinski was running high. Since most of the delegates were hoteliers
themselves and had expectations that were beyond standard service, the hotel had
to make sure it paid special attention to all details.

Execution
The forum received support from PATA, the World Tourism Organisation (WTO), the Leading Hotels of the World and the NTOs of France, Holland, Greece, Austria, Thailand, Ireland and Scandinavia, as well as the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.
More than 400 delegates from over 20 countries attended the event, during which the
Diamond Medal awards were presented to the top ten hotels in Asia and the top ten
influential figures in mainland China’s hotel industry.
A gala dinner was also held on the outdoor party lawn of the Kempinski Sanya.

Verdict
Xu Jing from World Tourism Asia Pacific says he thoroughly enjoyed the event.
“The hotel provided a very flexible service and increased the gala dinner set up at the last
minute,” he says.
“This is testament to the efficiency, experience and team work of Kempinski Sanya’s staff.”
