FOCUS - OUTDOOR ADVERTISING: Asiaray claiming a billboard first

Asiaray Advertising Media is claiming to be the first to erect

outdoor signage along the Hong Kong Airport Expressway, with a 1,500

sq/m Sinopec billboard.

Billboards were common around the old airport at Kai Tak, but the

relocation of outdoor signages to the new airport in Chek Lap Kok was

slow to take place, possibly because of the recession.

Asiaray assistant general manager Winny Mak said that advertising in and

around airports was important "since the target audience of airport

advertising is international travellers who usually are decision makers

with high consumption capabilities".
