Cheong Tai Leung appointed as president APMEA by Nielsen

SINGAPORE - The Nielsen Company has appointed Cheong Tai Leung as president, Nielsen, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), with effect from 1 August 2010.

In her role, Leung will report to David Calhoun, chairman and CEO, The Nielsen Company. She succeeds Christophe Cambournac who is assuming the position of president, Nielsen Europe.

Leung is the first Asian woman to be appointed to the top regional role. Based in Singapore, she will lead the company's strategy to build and accelerate its efforts in delivering value to help clients grow their business. 

Leung joined Nielsen in April 2008 as senior vice president, Global Business Services, Developing Markets, successfully driving operations and technology initiatives across business segments in 40 markets.  

Prior to Nielsen, she spent almost 15 years in various leadership roles at General Electric and Hewlett Packard, in areas such as professional services, technology, manufacturing and business process improvement.
