Photos: This is not the Colonel's KFC

KFC has opened a "grown-up" concept store in Sydney, featuring warm wood highlights and a custom menu. Clair van Veen, GM of DesignWorks Sydney, which drove the design concept, said the intent was to combine KFC’s core brand values with a more modern urban experience. “The concept was designed to feel like a grown up KFC by using a more sophisticated palette of materials, furniture, graphic language and tone of voice," she said. The brand has also applied for a liquor license for the store. KFC said it will look to open a small number of similar stores around Australia if this trial proves successful.
