Etymon scoops HK Disneyland’s PR retainer

HONG KONG - Two-year-old local independent agency Etymon Communications & Brand Management Consultants has won a two-year PR contract with Hong Kong Disneyland after a pitch in Q4 against two international PR agencies.

Etymon scoops HK Disneyland’s PR retainer

Burson-Marsteller was the incumbent, having held the account since 2009. Mindshare is the theme park's media agency. Disneyland has its own in-house creative team.

Etymon has already started working with Disneyland for a Chinese New Year campaign intended to raise the theme park’s popularity among Hong Kong visitors, especially young adults and families, Campaign Asia-Pacific has learned.

Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the agency's biggest new-business wins. The agency's two founders, Georgeana Fung and Betty Ng, have worked with both Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park in pervious roles with Burson-Marsteller and Weber Shandwick.

In the travel and tourism sector, Etymon has also worked for Venetian Macau and Sky100 ( 天際100) in Hong Kong.

In addition Etymon has renewed contracts with Shisheido and Citibank’s in 2014.
