Bell, which is based in London, will open its Beijing bureau in June. It is its first international office.

Travers is charged with raising Bell’s profile in China and to help the agency represent Britain’s creative industry at the Shanghai World Expo. She will further help expand its offerings in the areas of public relations, marketing and branding.

She joins from DHgate.com, a wholesale market site, where she has held her senior PR position for the past year. She will continue working with DHgate in a consultancy capacity in addition to her responsibilities at Bell.

According to Travers, the launch of Bell’s Beijing office is the “result of four years of research and planning - we really feel like the time is right now, especially given that Bell has been selected by UKTI to represent the UK's creative industry at the Shanghai Expo in May”.

Prior to DHgate, Travers held positions at Hill & Knowlton and EMAP.
