OMG appoints Thailand CEO

BANGKOK - Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has appointed Bernard Sumayao (pictured) as CEO in Thailand.

Reporting to Barry Cupples, CEO of OMG Asia-Pacific, Sumayao will succeed Sean O’Brien in the role, managing OMD and PHD brands.

O’Brien will be leaving Thailand after five years to return to London to manage client business across the EMEA region.

Commenting on the movements, Cupples said: “Bernard is a fantastic entrepreneur and I believe his strong market insights will be an asset to our business. He has the right skill set to build on our group’s established position in Thailand.”

Sumayao has 20 years of experience in the media and marketing arena in Thailand. He was previously director of United Broadcasting Corp. (now TrueVisions) and chairman of Media Resource Management, specialising in local as well as international television and multimedia content rights and distribution for Thailand.
