The bank also plans to kick-start a creative review within the next few months.
Ahmad Effendy, the marketer at RHB who is leading the pitch, confirmed the news and said that a decision on media agency duties will be made by the end of this year. The appointed agency will start working on the business in January next year.
Ahmad also said that the bank is currently “evaluating” its creative agency roster and seeking to add several more agencies to its roster. RHB’s creative is currently split between Creative Juice-SIL, Saatchi & Saatchi and SM Media.
Last year in July the bank launched a US$2 million corporate rebranding campaign to inform Malaysians of the unification of its four core business units under one name, RHB.
The campaign was developed by Creative Juice-SIL.
RHB is counted among the top five banks in Malaysia in terms of size.
Recently Malaysia's employee provident fund provider purchased a 70 per cent stake in RHB, a deal that has boosted the bank's investment banking business by giving it access to new business.
