Yang who has been with McCann Hong Kong for three years, and was the business director for the Volkswagen account for two and a half years, will leave the agency at the end of this week. She will take up the role of director of sales and marketing at Volkswagen China on 19 September.
Previously, Yang also worked on the same client at DDB Hong Kong for one year.
Yang said there will not be a direct replacement for her business director role at McCann as there will be a new restructuring of the account servicing team.
According to the Wall Street Journal article, The VW brand sold 991,800 cars in China in the first seven months of this year, up 12.9 per cent compared with the same period last year. China is the brand's largest single market.
Reported last May, VW China marketing head, Paul Hu took up the executive VP role at Land Rover China on 1 June.
