Lenovo has annouced that Bhaskar Choudhuri, previously head of marketing in India, will succeed Nick Reynolds as CMO of Lenovo Asia Pacific.

Reynolds has been appointed global head of marketing for digital, web and social.

Choudhuri, who is based in Bangalore, will be tasked with expanding Lenovo's brand footprint in the region and driving sales of PCs, tablets and smart devices. He reports to Ken Wong, president of Lenovo Asia Pacific.

Having led the marketing team in India for five years, Choudhuri presided over the successful launch of the company's smartphones in the India market, as well as many new initiatives in the digital marketing space, the company said. He also played a key role in making Lenovo’s services a brand differentiator through multiple activations, according to a statement.

Reynolds will now focus on growing Lenovo's digital and social-media capabilities globally, reporting to newly appointed global CMO Gina Qiao.

Although Lenovo is one of the world's most valuable Chinese brands, according to the latest BrandZ ranking, the company fell significantly in this year's Asia's Top 1000 Brands research, dropping from 80th to 154th and allowing Xiaomi to emerge as the highest-ranking Chinese brand.
