InMobi said it served 2 billion mobile ad impressions in the country in the fourth quarter of 2011—six times the number served during the same period in 2010.

It added that the country’s mobile market has also become more sophisticated, with a tenfold increase in the number of ad impressions served on smartphones between 2010 and 2011.

Phalgun Raju, InMobi’s regional director and general manager for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, said setting up operations in the country was a "natural step" towards leveraging opportunities in Thailand.

She said, “Thailand has always been a thriving market and the space continues to grow. We look forward to growing the mobile advertising mix of digital spend in Thailand, working closely with top agencies and brands.”

InMobi has run campaigns for clients, such as Nike, Malaysian Airlines, Mazda and Nokia and is now looking to strengthen and grow these relationships in Thailand.
