2010 has registered an online ad spend of US$3.8 billion, and the report predicts that in 2011 the number will hit US$5 billion.
As for digital ad spend in 2010, online display will take US$2,377 million, paid search US$2,328 million and social media US$194 million. These figures will grow by at least 20 per cent in 2012, according to the report.
Currently there are 518 million internet users in China, putting the internet penetration rate at 38.9 per cent. The report says that online population will reach 840 million by 2013.
The total advertising spending in China this year is US$23.6 billion and will reach US$26.6 billion in 2011.
Much of the optimisim in the advertising and media industries is due to the current GDP growth. China is seeing a 9.9 per cent increase this year and expecting 8.3 per cent in 2011.
