The collaboration is designed to enhance the Bundesliga’s appeal and help raise its profile in new football markets. DFL Sports Enterprises is a subsidiary of the DFL German football league, set up to market the competition around the world.

Jörg Daubitzer, chief operating officer of DFL Sports Enterprises, said, "Asia and especially Singapore are important markets for us today, that's why we are specifically taking action here. We have to keep working to capture more airtime and to participate in Asia's growth rates."

Audiences will be treated to exclusive videos of German Bundesliga’s past football legends and present stars including Gerd Muller, Frank Ribery and Franz Beckenbauer.

General manager of SPH MBO, Edward Tang, added: “We are constantly refreshing our content to draw eyeballs to the screens, which have proven to be a popular out-of-home media for advertisers to communicate with their audience.”

SPH MBO’s digital out-of-home network currently includes screens in 15 shopping malls, 49 bank branches, 38 petrol service stations, a hospital and four large LEDs.
