The Chinese Business Executives Survey, a syndicated study that tracks the consumption behaviour and lifestyle of these people, categorises them into three groups - entry, middle and senior levels - according to job titles.
The study finds the Chinese business population show a unique pattern of media exposure and consumption habits. Senior level business people are more exposed to newspapers (85.8 per cent), broadcasting (59.2 per cent), building LCD ads (80.6 per cent) and posters in elevators (50.4 per cent) than the entry and the middle levels. On the other hand, mid-level business people tend to use magazines (88.8 per cent) and the internet (88.6 per cent) more often.
Other interesting findings from the research include:
- Nearly half (48.3 per cent) of the business executives have experience in using one or more social media websites.
- A total of 58 per cent of the population have purchased a SLR camera, compared with 55 per cent in 2009 and 34 per cent in 2008.
- Chinese business executives are 8.5 per cent faster in changing cell phones than their country folks.
- A total of 66 per cent of the business population are willing to spend time enjoying life, compared with 58.4 per cent last year. Their ways of enjoying life are becoming more traditional. Leisure activities such as calligraphy, paining, tea savouring and fishing are gaining popularity.
