Few leaders embody Vietnam's digital transformation as vividly as Nguyen, the architect behind MoMo's meteoric rise. Founded in 2007, MoMo has evolved into Vietnam's largest fintech platform, redefining how financial services are accessed, consumed, and trusted.

Under Nguyen's leadership, MoMo has expanded beyond payments into insurance, credit, education, healthcare, and public services, cementing its position as a daily financial hub for millions of Vietnamese.

Nguyen has also championed AI-driven innovation, deploying AI models at scale to enhance fraud detection, personalise services, and optimise user experience.

Beyond operational oversight and strategy, Nguyen's impact resonates in marketing and brand leadership. In the past year, MoMo launched viral video campaigns "Rock" and "Melon", blending ancient Vietnamese dynasties with modern humour, tagged "All you need is love, Asian wisdom, and mobile money".

Meanwhile, strategic partnerships have expanded MoMo's ecosystem. MM Mega Market (digitising 1 million grocery stores) and Chubb Life Vietnam (Vietnam's first fully digital critical illness insurance) both launched in September 2025.

AI-driven personalisation increased voucher usage by 50%, while Tet 2025's "Lắc Xì" campaign (a highly popular, annual, interactive campaign during the Lunar New Year) achieved 2.7-fold engagement growth. His advocacy for financial inclusion aligns MoMo with national priorities, ensuring fintech is not just profitable but transformative for society.

The company is preparing for an international IPO, with Nguyen steering toward Singapore or US markets, signalling ambition to elevate Vietnam's fintech sector globally. MoMo's valuation surpassed $2 billion after its 2021 Series E round, entering unicorn status.

His achievements position him not only as a fintech pioneer but also as a defining figure in Asia's digital economy.

MoMo was ranked#5 in Vietnam's Top 50 Brands 2025 by Campaign Asia, one of only two Vietnamese brands in the Top 5 alongside Vietnam Airlines.

Previously, Nguyen held senior roles within MoMo including executive vice chairman & president and executive vice chairman & CEO.
