WWF urges co-existence with nature post lockdown

Watch the film conceptualised by McCann Worldgroup India here

WWF India has released a film that shows how nature has won during the enforced lockdown in various parts of the world.

Conceptualised by McCann Worldgroup India and set to the track Azaadi, the film shows clips of animals hitting the streets and blue skies. The message the film is looking to send out is that it is our responsibility to make sure this continues once life goes back to the usual.

Himanshu Pandey, director, marketing communications, WWF India, said, "This short film is a reminder that this planet belongs to not just us but also wildlife. It’s the myriad species i.e. biodiversity that ensures balance in nature for a safer, resilient and sustainable world. It is unimaginable to think of life without the varied biodiversity that surrounds us. According to WWF’s Living Planet Report, we have lost 60 per cent of wildlife populations in the last 44 years, globally. So when we step out of our houses after the lockdown, let’s ensure we protect this biodiversity and build a sustainable world where nature and people coexist. This is a film that aims to inspire individuals, businesses and governments to strengthen positive action to help build a better world for our future generations."

Sambit Mohanty, creative head - South, McCann, said, "There is no planet B. All creatures, great and small, have as much right to this planet as mankind does – because freedom is a fundamental right of all things living. And what this lockdown has taught us is that coexistence is key for all of us to thrive. I’m happy that WWF partnered us to send out this positive, uplifting message amidst these gloomy times."
