MediaCom China appoints Chris Baker to lead digital business

SHANGHAI - Chris Baker has joined MediaCom China as a vice president, responsible for the strategic growth and operation of the agency’s digital business.

Baker's appointment is with immediate effect. Based in Beijing, he will report to Michael Zhang, president of MediaCom China. MediaCom was launched in China in December 2005.

Baker (pictured) is a seasoned brand expert and digital communications professional with over 10 years of  experience working across Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining MediaCom, he was partner of Clik Dynamics in 2010, and managing director at Eight Partnership between 2002 and 2009.

“We want to bring the best minds together to enhance our offering in the digital space. We need a more structured group of like-minded talents with cutting-edge digital expertise. Chris’ sterling credentials in digital business management and development makes him our ideal choice to lead our fast-growing digital operations,” Zhang said.

“I was drawn to MediaCom for the opportunity to work with one of China's leading agencies and apply my experience to some of the largest, smartest and most demanding brands," Baker added.

His past work at Eight Partnership placed his name alongside brands such as Nokia, Virgin Atlantic, Nokia, UPS, Montblanc, Apple, Wellcome Supermarkets, and MSN.
