Y&R Malaysia appoints GM

KUALA LUMPUR - Y&R Malaysia has appointed David Mitchell as its new general manager.

Mitchell, who was most recently the general manager of Mekong Orchid at Laos, will replace Deb Sen, who has relocated to India.

“David is a consummate professional with impeccable credentials. He will lead our thought leadership initiatives for the agency and, importantly, define new priorities for Y&R within the digital domain in this market,” said Rishya Joseph, CEO of Y&R.

“I am confident that David has the credentials, energy and commitment to make this a reality for our group in Malaysia.”

Mitchell’s previous experiences include a 12-year stint with Leo Burnett and a year with Refuel, a local brand consultancy that he helped to start.

Mitchell said he was excited to be with Y&R since it is a “solid, well-run organisation that has partnered quite a number of clients for well over a decade.”
