HONG KONG: Aris Theophilakis, Bates Asia's regional head of

creative, has been relocated to Hong Kong in an attempt to boost the

agency's Greater China creative offer.

Theophilakis has been with Bates Singapore for the past two years after

spending five years at the agency's Copenhagen office. He said his new

role was originally planned for Hong Kong, but he was posted to

Singapore to provide the latter office with "a creative boost" because

of the Nokia and Heineken work.

Theophilakis said he would continue to oversee the work on Nokia and the

global effort on Heineken, adding that his main responsibility would be

to raise creativity across the region. "I will look at creativity and

Jeffrey (Yu, Bates Asia president) will look at the structure, but with

a focus on Greater China. My focus is on the conceptual brand work to

build effective campaigns."
