According to a statement from Alcatel, Asia-Pacific is a key growth driver for the company, with revenues having increased by over nine per cent year-on-year in this year’s second quarter.
The firm recently picked up business from China Mobile, China Telecom, NTT DoCoMo and Bharti Airtel.
In the statement, Asia-Pacific president Sean Dolan noted that Alcatel was “driving a transformation process, and external communications in the region will play a key role in that”.
Sykes will be responsible for communications across 25 countries in six ‘units’, including China, India, North Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
