Wee takes charge of Equinox in China

SHANGHAI - ZenithOptimedia has named Ching Ian Wee as managing director of media operation Equinox.

Wee was previously MD of ZenithOptimedia Japan, and arrives in Shanghai after six years with the Publicis Groupe agency, including a stint as regional account director in Singapore.

ZenithMedia CEO Malcolm Hanlon noted that the hire reflects the group’s strategy of focusing on its individual brands. Equinox was previously run by Wing Lai, who left for Universal McCann last year. Key clients include Schering Plough, Bacardi and Wyeth Healthcare.
