Weber Shandwick appoints strategic planner Makoto Hamada to consumer practice

BEIJING - Weber Shandwick has appointed Makoto Hamada as account director for consumer practice based in Beijing, where he will report to Weber Shandwick China MD David Liu.

With extensive multidisciplinary marketing expertise, Hamada is charged with bringing his strategic planning knowledge to bear for Weber Shandwick clients in China.

"Makoto has a great deal of experience in various marketing disciples and a deep understanding of the media environment that will give our clients a further creative and strategic advantage," said Liu.

With more than 10 years of experience in the communications industry, Hamada has executed web and mobile promotions, public relations and advertising campaigns and large-scale events for clients across the hotel and leisure, automotive and pharmaceutical industries. His past clients include Heineken, Air Canada, Tetra Pak, Nikon and the Canadian Tourism Commission.
