Telkomsel ringback tone service proves a hit with Indonesian subscribers

JAKARTA – Telkomsel's ringback tone (RBT) advertising service on mobile phones has attracted more than 137,000 subscribers since it was first test-released two months ago.

The service in the form of an audio ad will replace the dial tone when someone makes a call to a mobile. It was recently launched by Biz-Ring with Indonesian mobile operator Telkomsel.

The audio ad lasts for a total duration of ten seconds and users who sign up can get free SMS credits and music ringtones as rewards, as well as a chance to win monthly prizes including laptops, mobile phones and Blackberry devices.

Biz-Ring was created by Kami Kaya Kreasi (3K) in exclusive cooperation with Telkomsel. This allows Biz-Ring ads to be broadcast via text message to 11 million Telkomsel users and bring them in as Biz-Ring customers.
