South China Media targets female driving fans

HONG KONG - South China Media is reaching out to female automotive enthusiasts in Hong Kong with Jessicar, an extension of its Jessica women's lifestyle and CarPlus titles.

A spokesperson at the publisher explained that the magazine, which is touted as being ‘for car-loving fashionistas’, would target affluent women “who are passionate about cars as well as fashion”.

As well as information on cars written from a female perspective, the magazine will present fashion, trend and lifestyle features, including interviews with successful women in which they discuss their cars, and dining, travel and driving tips.

“We wanted to provide the market’s first automobile magazine written exclusively for women,” said the spokesperson.
Jessicar has debuted in conjunction with Lexus, which used the magazine launch to unveil its IS250C convertible.

The title will be published on a quarterly basis, with the next issue available in September.
