Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda launches Valentine's Day campaign

Despite being a western tradition, Valentine's Day is becoming increasingly popular in China as more and more brands try to cash in on the shopping spree, including auto maker Shanghai Volkswagen.

Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda launches Valentine's Day campaign

The company has launched a Valentine's Day-themed campaign for its Skoda Fabia model.

Visitors to the campaign's mini site are invited to choose from dozens of floating balloons, each containing a specific 'Valentine's Day wish.'

Users can then proceed to putting their wishes, including things like 'getting an Apple iPad' or 'finding a boyfriend', into a virtual Fabia car to share on social media websites. In doing so, they become eligible to enter a lucky draw.

The digital agency is Online Marketing Partner (OMP), a local agency founded in 2003. The agency recently withdrew from Skoda's 2011 pitch, making this one of their last few projects for the brand.
