The Samsung Global Bloggers programme aims to give young people the opportunity to travel to London for the Olympic Games and share their personal experiences on a specially created blog.
Samsung has partnered with MSN to create the Samsung Global Bloggers website, which will host the blogs and the audition for the bloggers across 20 countries around the world.
Two bloggers will be selected from Singapore to travel to the Olympic Games and write about their experience and upload videos on the Samsung Blogger website as well as via their own personal social media networks.
Samsung will be launching an interactive online campaign, fronted by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, over the next four months. The aim is to create a "huge amount of digital content" to drive people to the Samsung Global Blogger pages, Samsung said.
It added that as part of its sponsorship of the Olympic Games it will also give people who missed out on the Olympic Torch Relay an opportunity to take part in a ‘virtual Torch Relay campaign’.
Sunny Hwang, vice-president and head of global sports marketing at Samsung, said creating a strong connection with consumers is a step towards Samsung's goal of making London 2012 "everyone’s Olympic Games".
He said, “This year’s Samsug Global Bloggers programme will be our biggest activation to date and one which really cements London 2012 as the first truly digital Games.”
