It is believed that five agencies were involved in the pitch, including three incumbent agencies — Iris, Oze Power Switch and Fab Indonesia — which were appointed early last year.
The one-year contract covers all brands of chocolate drink, cereal, coffee and milk under Nestlé, countrywide. Oze Power Switch will cover Sulawesi and West Jawa, while Iris will handle sampling duties at Central and East Jawa, Surabaya as well as Kalimantan.
Nestlé Indonesia has seen strong sales figures in recent years. In 2010, it announced an investment of US$100 million in the country, with a focus on manufacturing nutrition-based branded products at affordable prices.
"We will ensure the sampling activities running effectively and efficiently nationwide as sampling is becoming one of the main key factors in marketing activities especially for food and beverage category in Indonesia market," said Omar Shahab, global business director.
