Lancome adds a VIP lounge to its HK concept store

HONG KONG: Lancome will be opening a concept store in the city, dividing the space around its make-up, skincare and fragrance mainstays.

Scheduled to open at the end of this month in the city's latest upscale mall IFC, the store features a lounge area and a semi-detached eparate VIP Lounge equipped with treatment rooms and a make-up studio. The brand plans to offer make-up assistance and opportunities to experiment with its specialty facial and body treatments in the VIP Lounge. The store also includes a beauty studio, where it will offer facial treatments.

French architect Jean-Marie Massaud and deisgner Daniel Pouzet designed the concept store, which Lancome described as being "at once intimate and spectacular, glamorous and eternal".

Lancome plans to open 10 such stores in Asia in 2005.
