Sixteen agencies entered the first round, with seven agencies chosen in the second round of the pitch. The review was held through an independent third party.
Audi Taiwan also invited three outside judges - a gallery owner, magazine publisher and advertising veteran - in addition to four internal Audi staff to oversee the pitch.
“Previously, Audi had only a distributor in Taiwan, but it set up its first branch in Taipei earlier this month,” said one agency source. “Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and BMW are the top three brands in the luxury car market in Taiwan, and as a challenging brand, Audi is doubling its previous adspend and wants to catch up despite the economic downturn.”
