Alongside Tokyu Advertising Agency, DDB won the account after a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies.

DDB will be charged with developing the brand communications and strategy, which includes traditional, digital advertising as well as sales and promotion for Hoyu’s new range of products.

“Hoyu is a well established name in both Japan and Taiwan," said Roy Soetanto, MD of DDB Taiwan, “This is the first time that the brand has appointed an agency outside Japan.”

Hoyu's direct competitors in Taiwan include L'Oreal, Revlon, Kao, Garnier, and local brands like Mei Wu Fa and Nice.

Hoyu adds to DDB Taiwan's host of new account wins this year, which also includes Wrigley’s, Miele, Duracell, Manulife and Twinhead.
