Pornhub unveils new genre of 'pollinator porn' to help save bees

Adult entertainment website wants to preserve bee fornication to help planet survive.

Pornhub has launched a channel of "bee porn" videos in a campaign to save the dwindling bee population.

Created by BETC Paris, the "Beesexual" site features short videos of foraging bees, with voiceover cameos by well-known adult entertainment stars including Julia Ann, Daya Knight, Olivia Austin, Joanna Angel and Dante Colle. There is also an informational video, starring Abella Danger and Kira Noir, who talk about the bee crisis and share tips on how to help.

More than 700 North American bee species are heading towards extinction due to habitat loss and increased pesticide use. The loss of bees poses a threat to global agriculture, which is partly sustained by pollinators – it has been estimated that $235bn worth of annual food production relies on the contribution of bees.

"Without bees helping plants get it on, the world as we know it wouldn’t exist. Their sex literally saves humanity," David Martin Angelus, creative director at BETC Paris, said.

The work was written by Olivier Mille, art directed by Thomas Defert and directed by Oliv & Tom through Eddy.

As part of the initiative, Pornhub will donate to bee-saving organisations Operation Honey Bee and the Center for Honeybee Research. Previous projects for Pornhub Cares, the site’s philanthropic division, have included "Save the whales" to help whales including the endangered sperm whale and the Closed Captioning library of content for deaf and hard-of-hearing users.

Corye Price, vice-president of Pornhub, said: "With over 110 million daily visitors, we thought our users could come together to lend a helping hand and help conserve this precious species. It’s our duty to ensure bees continue to fornicate and pollinate."
