wwwins Isobar Taiwan hires Polo Wu to lead new mobile practice

TAIPEI - With the increasing client demand for mobile and social-media marketing, wwwins Isobar Taiwan has hired Polo Wu for a newly created role as mobile practice leader.

Wu (pictured) will lead the a new four-person mobile practice, helping wwwins Isobar Taiwan’s key clients such as 7-Eleven's for their City Café , online game and digital entertainment company Gamania, and Taiwanese D.I.T. store TLW.

Wu will report to Freda Shao, managing director of the agency, who told Campaign that with mobile and social media as key trends in Taiwan in 2012, Wu's extensive background in mobile, CRM, media and digital marketing will help the agency meet its objectives.

“We’re devoted to providing effective and creative digital marketing solutions that grow our clients’ business and enhance their digital development,” Shao added. “Polo’s thinking, in terms of consumer insights and market demands, will lead the team to focus on innovative applications and digital marketing solutions for mobile platforms, including the integration of internet, social media, out-of-home digitalization and digital TV.”

Before joining wwwins Isobar Taiwan, Wu was deputy general manager for IP at Starcom MediaVest Group, in charge of Coca-Cola, P&G, Samsung, Ciba Vision, Richemont, Avon and Mead Johnson.

Wu has more than a decade of work experience in the digital industry. He started his career in the 1990s as co-founder of a mobile company, which was eventually sold to Nokia. He also worked for PocketNet, HelloAsia, Bates 141 (Soho Square) where he has built extensive experience in digital technology, digital advertising, e-commerce, mobile Internet, social network, blog marketing, viral marketing and mobile application development as well as customer relationship management.

Meanwhile, the agency has also promoted Mag Chen from associate creative director to creative director. Chen has led the Taiwan team to win a number of creative awards in Greater China for clients such as adidas, 7-Eleven, Chimei and Cinga. She will continue to provide innovative ideas for clients, as well focusing on cultivating more young creative talents.
