Fleishman-Hillard appoints Miranda Cai as general manager in Shanghai

SHANGHAI - Miranda Cai has been appointed general manager and vice president of Fleishman-Hillard's Shanghai office.

Cai (pictured) will lead expansion of the firm’s operations for major clients such as Philips. She will report to Li Hong, senior partner and president of Fleishman-Hillard’s mainland China network.

“Our China business is rapidly evolving," Li said. "Miranda brings powerful strategic consulting experience across multiple sectors that will help our clients succeed at a time of enormous change.”

Cai has garnered more than 17 years of experience in media, marketing communications, government and public affairs. Prior to this appointment, she served as director of corporate communications and public affairs practice at Weber Shandwick for three years.
 
Four years were also spent as director of marketing at hiSoft, an IT outsourcing group, where she developed and implemented a strategic communications plan that helped to grow the business by 60 per cent.

Her expertise in crisis management training stemmed from having conducted more than 50 training sessions for senior executives at multinational corporations such as McDonald’s, Covidien, Dulux, Porsche, Honeywell, Celanese and Metro.

China plays a leading role in the global growth strategy of Fleishman-Hillard, its president and chief executive officer Dave Senay said. “Miranda is in an excellent position to seize the many dynamic opportunities that China holds.”

Cai started her career as a journalist, clocking eight years at Los Angeles Times and Wenhui Daily. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international journalism from Shanghai International Studies University and an MBA from the University of Victoria in Canada.
