Utility firm hones online image to draw community

Utility company Hong Kong Electric has revamped its online image in a bid to connect with local consumers.

According to director of Hong Kong Electric and GM of corporate development, CT Wan, the site targets consumers and businesses. The website (heh.com), first launched in 1996 was last upgraded in 1999. The latest redesign, developed in-house, aims to keep up with technological developments and changes in the market. The site maps out Hong Kong Electric's vision and mission. It also underlines the company's commitment to the city as a supplier of electricity, and offers corporate information for shareholders, customers and employees. In addition, the site is seeking to lure young internet users through educational games targeted at children.
