URC selects OMD in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR - Universal Robina Corporation (URC), distributor of the top-selling Jack n' Jill and Roller Coaster brand of snacks in Malaysia, has handed its media business, worth an estimated US$2.5 million, to OMD from incumbent Trapper Media without a pitch.

The snack brand distributor had previously managed some of its media buying in-house and with Trapper, but was looking to streamline its businesses and media buying for its products.

Andreas Vogiatzakis, OMD Malaysia's MD, commented: "This win exemplifies good strategy on our part in helping URC build their brands further in a competitive environment."

Local shop, The Admine, was awarded the creative business for URC, displacing incumbent Milk+Co, the agency formerly known as DDB International.
