Sri Lanka Tourism readies agency shortlist

COLOMBO - Sri Lanka Tourism is believed to be shortlisting agencies to pitch for its advertising business, as the beleaguered nation attempts to bounce back as a tourist destination.

Agencies have been selected following a credentials round in response to the initial tender, which called for an agency to “carry out advertising activities locally and internationally for Sri Lanka Tourism.” A number of agencies, including TBWA, Ogilvy & Mather, and Grey responded to the initial tender.

The selected agencies are expected to present in Colombo within the next month. “They’ve definitely got something to sell,” said a source involved in the pitch. “It just needs to be sold the right way.”
